Say it With a New Emoji: 2022-2023 New Emojis Revealed

Emojis are part of our society. We communicate with Emojis because it is easy to understand, and we love using them everywhere (social media, messaging, and many more). Every year new emojis are added to our devices. We can’t wait to show you the new emojis of 2022 and 2023.

Emoji Update

Unicode is the universal protocol for displaying text (and emojis) online. Unicode is also responsible for proposing new emojis every year. With the latest update, more than 1.800 emojis will be available online.

In 2021, Unicode added over 100 new emojis (112, to be precise). The emojis of 2021 were mostly related to COVID-19-related use cases since lots of us had to focus on health, expressing virtual emotions, and other funny or more serious problems. See below the emojis of 2021.

In 2022, Unicode will release Emojis v15.0 with 31 newly approved emojis (approved in September 2022). You are probably thinking, why haven’t I seen them on my phone or online? The reason for that is that the different Operating Systems (OS) like iOS (Apple), Android, Microsoft, and Samsung all need to accept these changes and support the new emojis in new OS updates. Are you ready to see the new emojis?

Note that the final results of the emojis on a certain platform can still be changed.
